Thursday, March 30, at 12PM via Zoom

SDAN’s March membership meeting focused on the Self-Direction Act of 2022, which was enacted on October 1, 2022.

After three years of advocacy, we now have key flexibilities in self-directed services guaranteed by Maryland law, several of which require waiver changes. Those provisions have been incorporated into the waiver renewal and are scheduled to go into effect on July 1, 2023.

We discussed new services, changes to existing services, and other key aspects of the law. We reviewed advocacy that may be needed to ensure that the law is implemented in a way that best supports self-directing participants.
